Last night I was reading in Isaiah 66:1-2, I know I have read it before but it just really struck me when I was reading it this time.
Isaiah 66:1 Thus says the LORD, "Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest?
2. "For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being," declares the LORD. "But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word."
We are unable to make a building large enough to house God, yet in I Corinthians 3:16-17 it says:
16. Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
17. If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.
and I Corinthians 6:19-20 says:
19. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God and that you are not your own?
20. For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
That is such an amazing thought that God could use the earth as His footstool and that Heaven is His throne yet He chose to dwell in each of us!!
